Congratulations on being 8 weeks pregnant with Twins! It’s an exciting yet overwhelming time, with so much to learn about the Twins fetal development and we are here to help you every step of the way.
At eight weeks, your twins’ hearts have divided into right and left chambers, and will soon have all four chambers. They’re already beating at about 150 beats per minute. This is twice as fast as your own heartbeat.
Your twins’ livers, kidneys, brains and other organs are also developing more each day, becoming more complex. Their skin is paper-thin, and their veins are clearly visible. Their arm and leg buds are still growing and have started to form wrists, and webbed fingers and toes.
There’s a lot going on with your twins’ faces too. The cells that will eventually become their teeth have begun to develop, as well as the palates in their mouths. They also have raised areas on the sides of their heads, which will eventually become their ears. Tiny eyelids are starting to form, preparing to cover their developing eyes.
For these and more fascinating facts, be sure to see the Baby Centre.
